SOUND QUALITY IN AZIMUT HIGH SPEED YACHT CABINS

Sound quality in Azimut high speed yacht cabins

Akustikdoktorn Sweden AB is very pleased  to support Azimut Benetti, a world leading producer of luxury yachts, with a research and development project regarding acoustic sound quality in the cabins of the Azimut high speed yachts. In the project, sound reduction and sound quality for two different sources are addressed: wave induced noise (Sciacquio) and genset noise. The project includes:

    • Measurement of wave and genset noise and vibration spectra. Determination of sound quality indicators.

    • Work out potential design measures based on review of solutions from automotive and business aircraft. Review of sound reduction potential, cost, robustness etc.

    • Assessment of most interesting solutions using CFD and FE models and prototype tests.

    • Implementation of the most favorable design measure.

    • Measurement of sound quality parameters after implementation.
