Bullerdämpning av sjöpolisens nya patrullbåt
On behalf of Marell Boats Akustikdoktorn has measured sound and vibration levels on a patrol boat operated by the Stockholm maritime police. The boat is of a new type with the designation MD15 and is powered by two Volvo Penta D6 DPI Aquamatic sterndrives.
The measurements were carried out in waters between Nacka Strand and Björnsgrund, mainly in and around the fairway, at different speeds and during idling at dock. The aim was to survey sound and vibration levels on board to find effective measures to reduce noise levels in the cabin and to support the development of future silent aluminum boats and vessels from Marell Boats.
High engine power combined with small hull damping require specific measures for good sound comfort such as floating cab flooring and optimized engine and cabin vibration isolation. Akustikdoktorn has proven experience in noise control solutions for boats and ship and measures are developed in close in collaboration with Marell Boats.
